HEALTH

The best way to teach healthy habits is by living a healthy lifestyle.   By preparing meals with organic , homegrown and locally grown products (when possible) we at Mission Montessori aim to instill good nutrition as well as healthy eating habits for a lifetime.  Our hot lunches are prepared daily in our school kitchen.  Fresh fruits and vegetables are served with every meal.  You will not find foods with saturated fats or high sodium on our lunch menu.  The food we prepare is healthy, minimally processed and tastes great!

We put our practical life skills to the test as our students grow and harvest fruits and vegetables from our school garden and help with preparing the afternoon snack.

SAFETY

Keeping your children safe is one of our top priorities.  We use the Procare child care software and keyless entry system.  Each of our parents has a designated pin number for entering the school and clocking in and out each day.  Parents are asked to keep their personal pin numbers confidential. Every parent will have and use their own idividual pin so that we may know exactly who dropped off and or picked up your child that day. Guests are asked to ring the school doorbell and will be greeted by a staff member and asked to sign in/out on our guest sign-in sheet.  Individuals picking up a child must be authorized in writing by the child's authorized representative and must bring photo-ID and a car seat.    All parents and authorized representatives must first check in/out with the front office staff.  Every classroom has a list of each child's authorized representatives.  Staff will check this list along with the photo ID before a child is released.

Allergies are also treated with great care.  A list of children and their specific allergies is posted in every classroom as well as the school kitchen.  We ask that you check our lunch/snack menu daily and make alternate arrangements from home if your child is unable to eat what is on the menu for that day.  Each classroom has a designated “No Peanut” table for children with peanut allergies.   Peanuts are not served in our group snacks or school prepared lunches.

A First-Aid trained staff member is on campus at all times and all staff members are trained in Pediatric CPR and re-certify every 2 years.
